Campgrounds Forsythe Georgia

I have to admit that I was not too impressed by this campground when we first arrived. It is right off of Route 75 and was a bit noisy, but honestly, after staying here for the night, I think it was a good spot for an overnight stay. With the AC running in the trailer we were not bothered by the noise from the traffic. We were led in by someone that worked there to our site and he offered to help, which was nice.

Campsites: the sites are pretty basic where we were, they did have full hook-up but no fire rings. There were other sites with fire chimneas which were cute, there was a picnic table available for us though. The site is pretty sandy so I was wishing we had our outdoor rug, which we had to toss after all the rain in Virginia.

Facilities: Restrooms were decent, nothing notable to speak of and they had a playground next to them. There was a catch and release pond that had paddle boats available for use as well has having a swing there beside the lake to relax. They offer food inside the camp store and will actually deliver to your site if you call them to order. They offer things like pizza and wings. What impressed me was that they actually came by with some complimentary homemade chocolate chip cookies not long after we got settled, which was greatly appreciated after a long day! There is a pool and 24-hour laundry facility.

Area Attractions: This really was just a pit stop on our way to Texas so we did not go out and explore. It seems to be not too far from Macon GA, and not too far out from Atlanta. One of our friends, Bill Young, who drives over the road was in the vicinity. He gave us a shout and Richard went to Denny’s to have dinner, I was not feeling so great so I chilled out at home. Richard did bring me some pancakes which were delicious. Bill came back for a visit and to see the trailer. Thanks Bill for the dinner and visit, it was nice seeing you!!!

What we learned: Make sure you check into additional costs! Apparently I did not pay attention when I looked at the amenities. They had on their WIFI and cable but I did not notice the tiny emblem on the corner of the picture with the $ sign. It cost $2.00 for cable and if you wanted more than 30 minutes of surfing the web it cost $5.00 per device per day. Other than that all was good!
