Heading Home…

October 17, 2018

Well we are finally spending the night in ol’ Betsy tonight. We were supposed to be back in our home yesterday, but I ended up at the ER in New Mexico, having suffered enough with the crud that I picked up after Las Vegas. So, we opted for another night in a Marriott so that I could rest and get the first couple of doses of antibiotics in my system. Thankfully it had not turned into pneumonia yet, just a bad case of bronchitis and yes, on top of that a nasty UTI. But after a pretty quick visit to the ER in Tucumcari New Mexico.

Not able to make it as far as we were planning we took a big leap today and drove through the rest of New Mexico, Texas and have landed at a KOA in Elk City, Oklahoma. Not too bad, got the RV straightened a bit and now trying to get rid of a migraine, but it seems that my cough has eased a bit. We started out in a dreary drizzly rain pretty much all morning, cleared up in Texas, though still chilly and now in Oklahoma with a bit of a warm up. Rufus, I think is happy to be in his home tonight and is chilling with me as I write this while Richard cooks some hamburgers, yum! Not sure where we will end up tomorrow, but we might try to do our first attempt at dry camping. I will let you know how that goes.

More to come and travel on!
