Goodbye Estes Park, CO

October 2, 2018

Well today we wrapped up our time at Estes Park, Colorado. The last three months have pretty much flown by while we have been here. I have to say that this has been the most breathtaking area that we have yet to have the great privilege to visit and work. It was a time of regrouping for us. For me it was a time to revive and just be for a while. Now that does not mean that we didn’t work, we did but on our off time we either went adventuring or just chilled out. Hence the lack of updates on our website. Let me say I have a bunch of stuff to share about our time there and what we were able to see, but that will come later. Right now, we are on a bit of a sabbatical, heading to do some sight seeing out west and to relax for a bit.

We were all set to arrive in Raton, New Mexico tonight and stay at the KOA there, but unfortunately the best laid plans can be diverted. As we approached Pueblo Colorado we heard a clanging noise and pulled over, and boom plans blown up! God is good though and he took care of us even if it was not on our own timing. The leaf spring on the travel trailer, good ol’ Bessie, broke. We could not proceed, but fortunately we ended up in the parking lot of a garage that just happened to work on RV’s!! After going to get the part 10 miles away, leaving my phone in the bathroom of the parts store and having to go back to get it, and waiting for Moses the mechanic to get to us, we were finally back on the road at 8:00pm.

Needless to say, we did not make it to New Mexico! After sitting in the parking lot for 6 hours, we were exhausted mentally. Thank God for our son Zachary who still works at Marriott and his discount for hotel rooms. We ended up staying in Pueblo for the night, long day tomorrow! Next stop Albuquerque New Mexico! Prayers appreciated.

More to come and travel on!
